Australia Day on SKY News

Live coverage begins with First Edition on January 26 and continues until late night.

SKY News coverage of Australia Day 2017 begins at 5:00am with First Edition‘s Tom Connell and Amy Greenbank Live from spectacular Barangaroo Reserve on Sydney Harbour.

They will interview recipients of the 2017 Australian of the Year Award throughout the morning.

Coverage continues until late night:

At 9:00am sports anchor Jim Callinan will bring viewers Live coverage of the 28th Australia Day 10k Wheelchair Race as the world’s finest wheelchair athlete’s race through Sydney’s streets.

Then at 10:00am SKY News will broadcast the Flag Raising and Australian Citizenship Ceremony Live from Canberra.

Peter van Onselen and Kristina Keneally will anchor PVO NewsDay from the SKY News Centre in Sydney 12:00pm – 4:00pm with live crosses to SKY News reporters around the country as they join Australia Day celebrations in their city.

From 4:00pm a special edition of PM Agenda with SKY News Political Editor David Speers Live from Australia’s capital. David will look at how the nation marked the day and explore the aspirations for the country in 2017.

The Latest with Laura Jayes at 6:00pm is the ideal way to make sure you don’t miss a moment of celebrations nationwide.

At 9.00pm Paul Murray will anchor Paul Murray Live “On The Road’ Live from the Tamworth Country Music Festival with special guests Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and Australian country music legend Adam Brand.

Paul will also air Live from the Manilla Post Office Hotel, NSW on Wednesday January 25, kicking off the celebrations early with a local audience and joined by the 2017 Manilla Australia Day nominees. Registrations are now open for audience members. To register email [email protected]

A-PAC, Australia’s Public Affairs Channel (Channel 648) will feature encore presentations of Australia Day events throughout the day.
