Seven Adelaide boss resigns

Tony Davison has resigned from ATN7 after 13 years as general manager

General Manager of Seven Adelaide, Tony Davison, General Manager of Channel Seven Adelaide, has resigned after 13 years in the role.

Davison has worked with Seven for 31 years, starting out in the Melbourne-based office of ATN-7 in 1986 before moving to Adelaide as Sales Director in 1997.

“I’ve loved my time at Seven and it’s been an absolute privilege to serve as the General Manager these past 13 years working with such a talented and dedicated group of people. I’ve made many friendships along the way both inside and outside the company,” he said.

“Seven is a wonderful company to work for and I’ll take with me so many great memories accumulated over so many years. However, I know the time is now right for me to step down and pursue some other interests outside the TV industry. I’m very much looking forward to the next chapter.”

Davison has overseen a remarkable and unbeatable reign by Seven Adelaide for a decade, but the past year has also been marred by a sexual harrassment case made by journalist Amy Taeuber, against another senior colleague at the station. Both Amy and her sister were later sacked, with a case before Fair Work Commission reported to be headed back to mediation early last month.

Davison finishes on February 1.

Seven is yet to announce his replacement.
