TEN will become the new Free to Air broadcaster of Tropfest, with the short film festival moving from SBS.
For the first time it will air on ELEVEN and be streamed online at tenplay.com.au. Online platform Red Bull TV has global streaming rights. The deals with are in place for one year with options to extend.
The 16 finalist films, celebrity interviews and red-carpet arrivals will air on ELEVEN on Saturday, 11th February.
Founder John Polson said the festival met with all networks.
“Tropfest is thrilled to have a partnership with Network TEN for its 25th anniversary. We’ve come such a long way in 25 years of great story telling and TEN will be an integral part of the reimagined Tropfest for its debut at our new home in Parramatta,” he said.
Beverley McGarvey, TEN Chief Content Officer, said: “Network TEN is excited to team up with Tropfest and showcase the iconic and prestigious Australian short film festival on free-to-air television.”
Tropfest will be held at Parramatta Park’s Cattle Paddocks from February 7 – 11.
