American Horror Story to tackle US election

Scariest season of all? Ryan Murphy confirms next season will cover the Trump / Clinton election.

It looks like Ryan Murphy is finally putting an ironic context (or maybe not!) to American Horror Story, with the next series set to draw upon the 2016 presidential election.

Earlier this week he revealed the next season “is going to be about the election that we just went through so I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.”

Asked whether there will be a character based on President Trump, he just said, “Maybe.”

It has also emerged that American Horror Story, which was recently renewed for 2 more seasons, has stories that are connected across all their seasons.

Murphy remains prolific, with Feud to launch in March and more American Crime Story to tackle Hurricane Katrina, and the death of Gianni Versaci. Producers have also optioned a book about the Monica Lewinsky & Bill Clinton scandal.

The next season of AHS begins shooting in June. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters have already been confirmed to return.

  1. Horror means something different to everyone. I’m happy with a good ghost/haunted house story. In my opinion AHS Season 1 was the best. All other seasons have strayed too far from a basic scary story to hold my interest.
