US legal drama Goliath, which screens on Amazon Prime, has been renewed for a second season.
The drama co-written by David E. Kelley stars Billy Bob Thornton as a down-and-out lawyer who he seeks redemption.
“Amazon is proud of Goliath and Billy Bob’s amazing, Golden Globe-winning performance,” said Amazon Studios’ head of comedy, drama and VR Joe Lewis. “Great shows like this help elevate the art of storytelling. We can’t wait to bring our customers a new season soon.”
So far, Thornton is the only confirmed returning star for season two, despite William Hurt, Maria Bello, Olivia Thirlby, Molly Parker and Australian actress Sarah Wynter appearing in Season 1.
Clyde Phillips (Big Little Lies, Dexter) will take over day-to-day showrunner duties.
Thornton won a Golden Globe Award for his performance last month.
Goliath premieres on Amazon Prime tomorrow.
