Season 2 of Manchester cop drama No Offence will screen on ABC next week.

The 7 part drama by Paul Abbott (Shameless) sees the return of Joanna Scanlan as DI Viv Deering, (Joanna Scanlan), Elaine Cassidy as DC Dinah Kowalska and Alexandra Roach as DS Joy Freers.

These screened in the UK last month.

Joining the team this season is the younger, hyper aspirational new boss, Detective Superintendent Christine Lickberg (Sarah Solemani) and office manager Gavin (Conor MacNeill) – loved by the guys and hated by the girls on the team.

At their sides in the crumbling Friday Street cop-shop are: unshakeable DC Spike (Will Mellor), maverick Miller (Paul Ritter), cool PC Stuart (Tom Varey), calm PC Taz (Neet Mohan), mischievous PC Jonah (Ste Johnston) and the force of nature that is PC Tegan (Saira Choudhry), who all go above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done.

In an explosive start to the second series screening Thursday February 16, 9.30pm on ABC & ABC iview, Deering is thrust head to head against a ferocious and unpredictable matriarch, Nora Attah (Rakie Ayola) and her volatile son Manni (Zachary Momoh), one of Manchester’s most feared crime families – The Attahs. Viv is determined to broker peace but firebombs rain down thrusting the city back to the dark days of its “Gunchester” past. Viv and the Friday Street squad go all out to bring those responsible to justice and the battle for the streets of Manchester begins…

Thursday February 16, 9.30pm on ABC.

  1. Friday was always crime night on ABC. Paul Abbot is a great writer – loved Shameless until it went a couple of series too long. Will give it a go, but I think Thursday night are pretty much already occupied 🙁

  2. I just got through all of Season-1… & I mean only just. There were lots of things to like about this show, but it was a bit all over the place & those Manchester accents really stretched the concentration levels.
