Axed: The Mindy Project to end with 6th season

Mindy Kaling comedy has one more season to run.

The Mindy Project will wrap with a sixth season later this year.

Hulu head of content Craig Erwich said Wednesday in a statement, “It has been an honor and a joy to work with Mindy and the entire creative team behind The Mindy Project. This series has been part of Hulu since we launched the service and, thanks to Mindy’s incredibly unique voice and vision, has remained one of our most popular and beloved series over the past five years.

“While we can’t wait to see what Mindy has in store for what will undoubtedly be a fantastic sixth and final season, we know The Mindy Project will live on as fans will continue to watch, discover and relive all of the best moments from the complete series on Hulu.”

The final season will air in the US in September, though an episode count is to be confirmed.

Created by Mindy Kaling in 2013, the series was previously screening in Australia on Presto, with earlier seasons on SBS2.

Seasons 5 & 6 will air in Australia on SBS VICELAND.

  1. Think it also had a run on 7 at one point. I’ll be sad to see it go, its been a great series and come back to its quality of season 1 & 2 once it jumped over to Hulu.
