This week’s subject on Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery is none other than ex-Met At Work front man, Colin Hay.
He begins his Home Delivery journey with Julia where the Men At Work story began – at the Cricketer’s Arms hotel in Richmond. A natural born story teller and raconteur, he regales her with tales of his first gigs at the tiny pub and the evolution of the unofficial Aussie anthem, Down Under. They then jump in an old Peugeot (like the one he co-owned with his Mum) and drive out to the beachside burbs of Beaumaris and Black Rock. At the old family home, Colin reveals that he only drove by the house the day before so he could feel the presence of his parents who have both passed away. He was devoted to them both and he talks about how they supported him throughout his life.
8pm Wednesday on ABC.
