MKR tops Monday, Biggest Loser slips even lower.

My Kitchen Rules got a boost last night as 9 teams competed in Kitchen HQ. The show rose to 1.25m, enough to eclipse Married at First Sight which dipped to 1.16m.

But the real drama was over at The Biggest Loser: Transformed -at just 284,000 it was the lowest number so far this season. Where will it end?

In contrast House Husbands managed a season high of 722,000, ahead of Murder Uncovered and ACA won its slot for Nine.

Several ABC shows were down, Australian Story, Four Corners, Media Watch but Q&A was up.

Sunrise had a thumping win over Today, clearing it by nearly 90,000 viewers.

  1. I think it’s high time that Ten moved some of their stronger performers from Eleven back where they belong. Surely Neighbours would perform more strongly on the primary channel than a lot of Ten’s current offerings. It seems like a wasted opportunity that they didn’t move it in time for Dee’s return (that could have attracted a lot of lapsed viewers).

  2. Maybe all the production staff and crew who use to make TBL have left and gone to make MAFS?
It’s certainly not up to the standard of previous seasons.

Simple schedule swap solution to the BL slaughtering.
Swap Studio 10 to start at 7.30pm (M-F) and swoop the BL so it’s up against Sunrise & Today.
Shove the stuff 10 broadcasts between 7 and 8.30am M-F back to 9am. Or just repeat S10’s previous evening’s episode.
Strip Family Feud from 8.30am 5 days a week.
Edit the current BL down to 30 mins (really only 22 mins if the sponsors are still with ’em) and strip that M-F 6pm.
    Now what could be simpler?

  4. So nice that greys is finally back. The first episode of the double was particularly good.

Footy classified wasn’t bad last night. It probably helps that we’ve had round 1. Gave it another go despite not being impressed by the small amount watched last week. Someone who saw the whole episode last week commented on this site that footy classified only used one radio station as a source for their radio comments during that episode. That wasn’t the case this week they used a number.

    • Was much better this week. I actually kept tabs on what they used this week, which at least kept me awake! Personally, Talking Footy still is the superior Aussie Rules Monday night panelshow.

      • Prefer footy classified to talking footy. When I do watch talking footy I only watch the first segment anyway because that has sam macclure. This week I only lasted a few minutes of talking footy because they opened the show about Essendon and these day I mentally switch off at the mention of Essendon because of their recent history. Alternatively Footy Classified opened with Hawthorn so I kept watching.

  5. TBL is still on? who would have guessed, end of the day, watching strangers exercise & cry just isn’t entertainment, I can watch people do it in my local park for 5 minutes if I need a fix, did catch Who’s line is it anyway for the first time last night (late shift) it was horrendous, no wonder it was on at 1130pm, woeful….

  6. Great ep of House Husbands last night – best one this season by a long way.
Will go downhill a long way next week – the dreaded Delta appears.

  7. It’s time to go, TBL.

I’ve been a fan of previous seasons but this season isn’t grabbing me. Something is definitely missing. Maybe they’re just not fat enough?

I’ll be back for the bikinis and six packs at finale, wherever and whenever it airs.

  8. Terrific to see neighbours top of the multi channel pops . It really does deserve a bigger audience compared to what home and away gets but think that’s about the max it will get on multi channel and if things go pear shaped in the old dart then it might foreclosure on Ramsey Street – surely CBS investment in eleven depends on strong ten to

  9. Big win for Seven, they’ve had a fantastic start to the week & will surely dominate even more than last week (with Wednesday to itsself and the AFL on three nights again)!

MKR easily beat Married (first time in ages) & Murder Uncovered did well across 2 hours late at night (averaging 621k).

Great to see Neighbours still pulling about 200k.

7Two was massive with Jonathan Creek / Inspector Morse combo.

    • Your claim that “7Two was massive with Jonathan Creek / Inspector Morse combo” is wrong.
Inspector Morse was not even on, however Foyle’s War was. Jonathon Creek didn’t make the top 20 list. So how was this massive?

Ten only have themselves to blame for not backing TBL all the way. If they believe in the product which the programmer clearly did two weeks ago, let it settle. There’s lots to like in this season. Some likable and identifiable characters, a new trainer who is a breath of fresh air and more helpful info for viewers. I wasn’t going to invest in this season, but during bad weather stayed indoors and binged on the encore screenings a couple of weekends ago. Maybe the brand is too old and not current enough; like Dancing with the Stars. Ten put enough into it with pre publicity and promotion. Vale, TBL.
