Renewed: Aussie Gold Hunters

Discovery digs deep with more gold prospectors hoping to strike it rich in W.A.

Discovery has renewed Aussie Gold Hunters for a second season.

The Electric Pictures series, which follows crews of gold prospectors hoping to strike it rich, is currently filming in Western Australia.

Returning are the Dirt Dogs (Vernon Strange and Leon Marsh), Gold Gypsies (Christine and Greg Clark) and Kellie Carter and her team mate Henri Chassaing.

The three crews will also be joined by new faces for the 10-part series -two more episodes than the first season.

“After a successful debut last year, we’re excited to announce that Aussie Gold Hunters will be returning to Discovery Channel for Season 2,” said Jonathan Rudd, Vice President Programming & Production Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands.

“Discovery Channel is renowned for showcasing unique and extreme jobs from around the world and closer to home, and Aussie Gold Hunters is no exception – the authentic stories and characters resonate strongly with our viewers. The gold fields of outback Western Australia are not for the faint hearted and this season we delve deeper to find out why these crews are hooked on the hunt for gold.”

Risking everything in the hopes of finding gold, Aussie Gold Hunters captures the journey from the soaring highs to the crushing lows of the gold season on the remote gold fields of Western Australia. The crews brave brutal heat, punishing conditions, mechanical breakdowns and constant pressure in their quest to strike it big. Because here, it’s all or nothing. Welcome to the new rush.

Aussie Gold Hunters will return in July on Discovery.
