Tearful Steve Price out of I’m a Celebrity

Steve Price fought back tears after being eliminated, but has made big inroads into perceptions of his personality.

Radio commentator Steve Price fought back tears after being eliminated from I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

The 2GB host and regular on The Project turned emotional after seeing a video montage of his time on the series and called upon radio sponsors to donate to his chosen charity, Beanies for Brain Cancer, initiated by Carrie Bickmore.

With nearly six weeks of his “grumpy cat” demeanour, Price managed proved to be one of the surprise participants on the show, especially with his “jungle radio” interviews.

But he clashed with others including The Bachelor‘s Keira Maguire, while others tested his temperament.

But Price was clearly hoping to reset audience perceptions of him in agreeing to go on the show -and it appeared to work- outlasting others including Hollywood comedian Tom Arnold by weeks.

The final four on the show are favourite Casey Donovan, Nazeem Hussain, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Dane Swan, with one more to be ejected on Sunday night.

A winner will be announced on Monday.

  1. My opinion of Steve has certainly changed. I think a big part of it was his ‘bromance’ with Nazeem I think he has been good for Steve.

  2. Steve Price was the surprise of the show and I really wanted him to win. I have heard him on radio at different times and always disliked the man and his views, but he has been a highlight and a very interesting and often funny character.

I have a completely different impression of him now. At last we are seeing the ‘real’ Steve Price. Sadly, no longer.

    1. Yes I never liked him on the radio from years ago and when I saw that he was on the Project I refused to watch, however I did find him entertwining and quite personable in the jungle. How wonderfully tactful of him to call Tom Arnold bizarre…I’m sure there were many other describing words he could have used!

  3. Yes, agree about Casey. She comes across as a lovely, funny and surprisingly quirky person and she has a beautiful voice. But she hasn’t contributed nearly as much to the challenges as many other contestants who have given it their all.
So, no she probably doesn’t deserve the Queen of the Jungle title.
I think it will be between her and Dane though. He has been a machine, shining in all the challenges. Seems a really nice guy but I find him a bit boring and emotionless. He would have a huge following in the footy/sports world.

  4. It’s time for a Queen Of The Jungle and a non sports man!
Would love to see Nat win as I feel she hasn’t really complained and done everything thrown at her and shown some real emotion in there and I feel like i know her now.
Casey has also been fantastic but she has on 2 occasions said the words ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ which lost some favor with me.
