The Block to begin filming on April 27

Here endeth the speculation about Elsternwick & St Kilda sites for 2017 series.

Nine will begin filming The Block at 46 Regent Street Elsternwick on April 27th, with contestants to begin on April 28th.

Producers sent letters to residents this week confirming the dates, noting they would keep noise to a minimum and expect to comply with all regulations, including the starting time of power tools.

“There are no film trucks, grips, gaffers or catering vehicles (the sort of vehicles you may normally associate with a film shoot) required for the production of The Block. The show is made in a documentary style by two-man teams who use hand-held cameras and sound equipment,” they advised.

Producer Julian Cress included his mobile phone number and welcomed residents to call him “any time day or night” if they had concerns.

The confirmation ends speculation Nine may still use The Gatwick hotel in St. Kilda for its next season.

TV Tonight understands there is interest in the site for 2018 after its residents have been relocated.

Nine declined to comment.
