The Night Manager lifts SBS, MKR leads Seven’s night.

Ratings: Biggest Loser sees a small rise but has a long way to go. Seven claims the night.

With Nine playing a staggered schedule due to The Footy Show and no thrilling instalment of Married at First Sight, Wednesday was Seven’s for the taking.

MKR was back to top spot as the only show over the magic million, increasing slightly on last Wednesday to claim 1.14m. Planet Earth II was also up at 684,000 and some good news, of sorts, for TEN with The Biggest Loser: Transformed up from Tuesday’s horror figure to a grim figure of 374,000.

Million Dollar Cold Case was down for Seven from 644,000 to 588,000. This is Us was also down for TEN.

  1. I have to admit that The Weekly has been terribly unfunny this year. The last three episodes I don’t think I laughed once. It started out a promising show but I feel like the writers have lost their touch.

    1. I would agree Kirk. For me comedy is always personal. What I like, will not be shared by another, so I rarely criticise the comedic loves and loathes of different people. In the past I have enjoyed the show mainly because it was more insightful and subversive comedy. But lately it is just flat.

I am also not sure having Adam Briggs on each week is a good move. It seems as though he and the writers don’t know what to do with him. I haven’t seen last night’s episode yet, but the week before his segment was very limp.

      1. Completely agree. Been meaning to comment something similar for weeks. I always found Tom and Kitty to be the funniest parts of the show. It used to be relatively funny show with a leftie lean, now it’s almost completely just leftie ranting

  2. Planet Earth was probably the pick of the night, but I cannot watch a quality documentary peppered with advertising and station promos, especially when they appear at the bottom of the screen when the program is actually on. Will view on catch-up! Chose instead to watch Home Delivery on ABC1. What a gem of a show featuring Tim Ferguson who suffers from M.S. A great insight into the life of a lovely guy. Julia Zemiro makes for the perfect host. Then watched The Weekly but I was fairly disappointed.

          1. Turning the tables on Tom works if you’re someone like Kerri-Anne Kennerley, which I really enjoyed watching her give Tom a few black-eyes.

    1. Julia Z is perfect. Young enough to keep the show light and amusing and old enough to know the guests from their heyday. And she has such warmth and empathy 🙂

  3. Maybe, just maybe, TBL will increase to a (still terminal) 400-500K with MAFS ending next week and MKR off for Easter soon. What a long month it’s going to be. Perfectly ill timed momentum killer for what is still TEN’S biggest property – Masterchef.
