8 out of Seven

Ratings: MKR helped Seven to its 8th straight ratings win last week.

Seven won the ratings last week, capping off 8 straight wins in the 2017 survey year.

While Married at First Sight was the #1 show of the week, Seven still won every night thanks to My Kitchen Rules which has underpinned its first quarter. Seven maintains it is still the biggest show on television. Despite a huge drop this year, it is still in front.

TEN managed a negligible lift (up from 15.3%) after binning its 7:30 programming with The Biggest Loser: Transformed (the show falls out of the Top 200).

  1. While Nine aren’t winning the weeks, they are usually only a few percentage points behind Seven (and even less in the mainland East Coast state capitals). I don’t think the board of Nine would be too concerned by that. Especially compared to the general downwards decline of tv audiences.

  2. Another clean-sweep by Seven.

Also won the three key demos again.

What will it take Nine to be dominant once again? It’s been more than a decade of being beaten. I’d guess with FTA TV to be non-existant in the near future, they’ll probably never return to top spot.

Especially while Seven dominate Adelaide and Perth, have MKR & the AFL.
