  1. This is a legitimate reason for a one-hour evening news bulletin. That way it doesn’t end up getting filled out with news footage from 2 or 5 years ago and supermarket promos dressed up as consumer advice. *cough* Seven *cough* Nine *cough*

  2. Stan Grant has been doing a top job all afternoon….and talked to many….not sure why this is necessary…I will not be watching ….

    1. For the millions who were still at work and unable to see what’s been happening. More important to extend news than run the Friday filler.

      1. I agree….my point…I could not see why they needed a 1 hour Leigh Sales Special….when the people on the news desk were perfectly capable and doing a darn good job?!?

        1. My guess is that with Leigh being national it was easier to ask her to do an extra ~15 minutes (on top of what would have been 7.30) rather than try to get each state and territory newsreader to do an extra half hour.

          1. Leigh does not do Friday….The Link with Stan Grant is usually on at 7.30PM….(it was shown later in the night, covering floods)….So she was pulled in for the special.?!?

          2. Good point. Yeah, guess it was still simpler to ask one person rather than eight.

  3. It’s certainly today’s big news. Swift and decisive action by the Trump administration. As always with the mid-east the consequences may take a while to become apparent.
