Airdate: Brits Icon: Elton John

On Monday Nine will screen a 2013 music special Brits Icon: Elton John.

The concert was attended by the likes of Liz Hurley and Gary Barlow, while video messages were played from President Clinton, Ringo Starr and tennis legend Billie Jean King.

A previously-announced Madonna special will now screen a week later on May 8.

This inaugural Brits Icon event – taped before a star-studded audience at the London Palladium – features Sir Elton’s live performances of some of his greatest hits including “Your Song”, “Tiny Dancer”, “Bennie And The Jets”, “Philadelphia Freedom”, “I’m Still Standing”, and “Sad Songs (Say So Much)”, performed with his close friend, superstar Rod Stewart, who described his “dear mate” as ” the second-best rock singer ever”.
