BBC First picks up Guerrilla

High profile political drama featuring Idris Elba is coming to BBC First.

UK drama Guerrilla, created by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) has been picked up by BBC First.

A love story set against the politically explosive backdrop of 1970s London, Guerrilla tells the story of two people whose relationship and values are tested after they liberate a political prisoner and form a radical underground cell. Their ultimate target becomes the Black Power Desk, a real-life, secretive counterintelligence unit within Special Branch dedicated to crushing all forms of black activism.

The six-part series, which stars Freida Pinto, Babou Ceesay and Idris Elba, who also executive produces, premieres in the UK and US next week. Deals were closed for multiple territories at MipTV.
