CNN host Anderson Cooper has apologised after a remark he made during an interview with conservative commentator Jeffrey Lord.
Lord was defending President Trump to Cooper amid reports that he called former F.B.I. chief James Comey a “nut job” when the CNN anchor interrupted him.
“If he took a dump on his desk, you would defend it,” Cooper said to Lord. “I mean, I don’t know what he would do that you would not defend. I mean, you’re a loyal guy, I think that speaks well of you.”
But he later apologised on Twitter:
I regret the crude sentence i spoke earlier tonight and followed it up by apologizing on air. It was unprofessional. I am genuinely sorry.

Cooper is correct-Trump ‘fans’ are that combination of the irrational and self serving that defies reasoned argument.
There seems to be a lot of “Trump Derangement Syndrome ” in the media at the moment. Trump is a terrible leader but until the media just learn to report the facts, and not go into hyperbole, Trumps supporters can just point to this and other examples as “fake news” and “media bias”
