Lisa Wilkinson celebrates 10 years on Today

It was a morning of surprises as Today celebrated 10 years for host Lisa Wilkinson.

Lisa Wilkinson has today chalked up 10 years on Today (that’s a helluva lotta early rises).

She celebrated with co-presenters by cutting a cake during the show, broadcasting from her hometown of Campbelltown, and there were plenty of retro clips from across the decade.

Her family were also on hand for a surprise visit.

Sylvia Jeffreys got teary as she acknowledged, “That is why and from my perspective with only three years on the show it is remarkable the way you continue to strive, not just everyday — every interview, every segment, every single thing you do, you strive for excellence and you never stop.”

Wilkinson’s casting on the show a decade ago, from her appearances on Sunrise, followed a string of rotating and short-lived presenters before the chemistry with Karl Stefanovic hit the right note.

On Instagram Wilkinson said, ‘Thanks so much to everyone who came on down to say hi today…and especially to everyone who has watched us over the last ten incredible years. You are the reason we do this every day.”

  1. I enjoyed watching it but thinking it was maybe a little over the top! I enjoyed the cream horns from the local bakery part (yummmmm) and singing The Horses with Daryl Braithwaite. Lisa does love him and that song !! The interview with Charlie Pickering on The Weekly was very good.

Oh, yes! I had all but wiped Sarah Murdoch’s stint from my mind…
