Renewed: The Amazing Race, Elementary. Axed: The Great Indoors.

More renewals and cancellations from the USA.

The Amazing Race has been renewed for a 30th season.

It’s an impressive achievement for the Emmy-winning competition reality series, although it trails Survivor‘s 34 seasons.

The show has been averaging 6.5 million viewers and continues to screen in Australia on Seven.

Meanwhile CBS also renewed crime series Elementary. The Sherlock Holmes-inspired procedural starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu has averaged 7.7 million viewers.

The series screens in Australia on TEN.

Meanwhile fellow ELEVEN series The Great Indoors has been axed after just one season. The series starred Joel McHale as an adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine averaged 6.9 million viewers during its run.

  1. Great news about TAR.
A perennial favourite of mine but the last few seasons have possibly been lacking some of the more memorable contestants of earlier series.

  2. I was getting worried about Amazing Race for a while there. They took their time renewing it. Happy about Elementary too. I had heard rumours it may be cancelled so glad it wasn’t.

  3. Hooray for both! But particularly Elementary, which at least deserves the dignity of a “known to be final” season so it can close up its stories properly.
