WildWoods coming to ABC KIDS

ABC KIDS has picked up Irish-based live-action puppet series, WildWoods.

Aimed at four to seven year olds, the 26 x 11-minute sitcom wants to teach children to take a digital break and spend time outdoors. Shot in scenic locations across Ireland, it follows Cooper, a seven-foot-tall Sasquatch, and Poppy, a pint-sized Sugar-glider.

Colin Williams, the creative director at producers Sixteen South, said, “It’s a very special comedy series that’s been almost eight years in the making and features two funny new characters that we hope will encourage children to disconnect from the digital device and reconnect with nature—and the only place to film a show like that is completely outdoors.”

No airdate has yet been announced.
