7mate’s new gaming and esports show screenPLAY begins on air next week, and follows from its online launch yesterday.
Featuring former Good Game presenters, Stephanie Bendixsen and Nich Richardson, the online platform offers daily content, while the TV version has new weekly content around reviews, livestreams, gameplays, interviews and cosplay.
“Building a community that shares our passion for video games where we can openly chat, stream, play and have fun is ultimately what we’re about,” says Steph.
“I’m thrilled to be part of Channel Seven as we take this next step forward together to create something special for the Australian video gamer,” says Nich.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Steph and Nich leading Seven’s multiplatform commitment to video gaming and esports,” adds executive producer Andrew Watson.
Stephanie Bendixsen and Nich Richardson join the Seven family in their roles as hosts of screenPLAY and are looking forward to sharing their knowledge and love of video gaming. Steph and Nich will also be joined weekly by screenPLAY esports experts.
Stephanie joined ABCTV’s Good Game in 2009 as its first full-time female presenter, along with its companion show for younger gamers, Spawn Point. She has since become a well-known presence in the industry, championing the positive representation of women in video games.
In 2011 Nich started The Roast, an online satirical news show for Fairfax and joined Good Game as host of their digital show Pocket, as well as regularly filling in alongside Steph on Good Game.
screenPLAY builds on Seven’s ‘content everywhere’ strategy, with the platform live across various online assets, broadcast TV, social media, events and esports activations, whilst also regularly streaming across popular gaming platforms such as Twitch.

Isnt Thursday June 29 at 10pm when American Dad is returning to 7mate??
Now out of schedule.
I really wish I could say I was the slightest bit surprised by this but I’m really not. Can anyone set a schedule out even a week in advance now without feeling the need to fiddle with them?
