Ex-presenter faces court in parcel bombing case

Former TVSN presenter tells court he had nothing to do with a parcel bomb that maimed a Sydney model 19 years ago.

A former Television Shopping Network presenter who was extradited to Australia after fleeing charges of attempted murder 17 years ago has faced a Sydney court.

Roberto De Heredia told a Sydney court he had nothing to do with a parcel bomb that maimed a Sydney model 19 years ago. The parcel was addressed to Penthouse Pet Simone Farrow but was allegedly meant for her boyfriend Brett Boyd.

Crown Prosecutor Virginia Lydiard, QC, told the court Mr De Heredia’s DNA was found on some of the stamps attached to the parcel.

Mr De Heredia’s barrister claimed “someone had gone to a great deal of trouble to make it appear like he did” have something to with the bombing in Belrose in 1998.
