Richard Wilkins: “It’s been a life-changing experience for him and us.”

Nine's entertainment guru is proud of son Christian for roughing it on the streets for SBS homeless series.

Nine Entertainment guru Richard Wilkins said he was proud of his son Christian for participating in SBS immersive series Filthy Rich and Homeless.

“It was the longest 10 days of my life, I’ve got to say. I had no idea what was going on. We got one phone call and that was it,” he told Tom Ballard during a live discussion following the final episode.

“After a couple of days I figured no news is good news. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and go on the Weather Channel and see record f***in rainfall in Melbourne.

“I’m sure I speak for both of us…. we’re so proud that our young lad has had an opportunity and seen this thing through to throw his hat in the ring.

“It’s been a life-changing experience for him and us.”

Wilkins also pointed out, ‘We’re not filthy rich, by the way…”
