Admittedly it’s a little hard to see how this one fits their Charter but fans will nonetheless be pleased to hear SBS has picked up The Good Fight, the spin-off to The Good Wife.
Due to begin on August 2nd, the US drama has received favourable reviews in the US.
The series picks up one year after the end of The Good Wife and sees Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo reprise their roles as Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn, respectively.
Also appearing are Rose Leslie, Delroy Lindo, Sarah Steele, Paul Guilfoyle, Bernadette Peters and Erica Tazel, with Jane Lynch to come.
It has already been renewed for a second season.

Oh fantastic news. I was worried it would go to foxtel or one of the streaming services.
I’m surprised it’s sbs. I’ve seen the first season, it’s amazing. So if sbs gets the second season it will be my first time to watch sbs.
People may be surprised/shocked/offended by the level of coarse language in it-made for US cable TV effectively not Network TV-this aspect was discussed by Christine B. on the Late Show a few months back. Unsuspecting viewers beware!
I’ve seen the first season, it was excellent
This show doesn’t come close to fitting their charter…but I really want to see this show so I’m glad someone has picked it up!
Hopefully season 2 is aired closer to the US air date.
Love this! Well done SBS!! Wonder if we’ll get the full season up on SBS On Demand to binge too.
This is a great series – virtually a continuation of The Good Wife, but without the Floricks. Another great ensemble cast.
Its good that we finally have a network to air it but why do we have to wait to august to see it?
