Evergreen by Jacklyn Bassanelli’s is an epic, futuristic drama series set on Mars, with Stephen Luby of Ruby Entertainment (The Secret River) attached as producer, and development funding from Film Victoria.

Bassanelli will write a pilot script, a series bible and produce a sizzle reel.

Evergreen is a wonderful, bold television series with excellent international possibilities. We’re very excited to be working with Jacklyn on this project,” said Tim Pye, Head of Development for Scripted Ink.

“Thanks to Scripted Ink, I was able to bring together an exciting group of writers – Kelly Lefever, Chelsea Cassio and Adam Spellicy – to brainstorm with myself and producer Stephen Luby over an expansive and inspiring three days,” said Bassanelli.

Meridian, by Alexei Mizin and Ryan van Dijk is a sci-fi mystery thriller television series. Both have enjoyed a four-day brainstorming session with Vicki Madden (The Kettering Incident). Scripted Ink is also funding Ryan and Alex to travel to LA to pitch their project to agents, producers and Hollywood studios.

“It’s rare to see such assured writing craft in emerging writers,” said Tim Pye.

‘There are two things that emerging writers desire and require: actual experience of being ‘in the room’, as well as mentorship and encouragement from an experienced practitioner.

Mizin said, “The connections and relationships made as an outcome of this week have already been fruitful with talks for potential employment as well as introductions to managers, agents and various production companies both in Australia and overseas.”
