  1. Glad to see Carrie Coon nominated for Fargo.
I don’t get why she didn’t get a nom for The Leftovers where her performances were exceptional.
Evan Rachel Wood nom for Westworld was well deserved.

  2. I can’t see Carrie Fisher in the nominations. I know Catastrophe is a comedy but it isn’t under that. Regardless, she was awesome in it, pretty much playing an extreme version of herself and the absolute highlight of a great program.

  3. Shame Bates Motel has missed out, thought maybe it would get a nod for it’s final season to cover all 5, however can’t argue as TV has become a tough field these days. Regardless I will fondly remember Freddie Highmore’s Norman Bates and Vera Farmiga’s Norma Bates, well played by both of them. Now if Susan Sarandon for her role as Bette Davis can win it would kind of be fitting in beating out Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford to the story.

  4. Also worth noting Aussie Kate Dennis has been nommed for directing work in Handmaid’s Tale. Very impressive considering she’s only recently moved to the US to work.

  5. Here we go again. Complaints about nominations…

Btw was Carrie Coon nominated for Fargo or is it correct as u have written for The Leftovers?

Anyway… we start with the Leftovers. No nominations? I’m lost for words.
Stoked for Better Call Saul (No Bob Odenkirk? And Jonathan Banks over Michael McKean? Huh?), This Is Us (No Mandy Moore who was the clear standout but a big tick for Ron Cephas Jones) and Westworld (Anthony Hopkins nomination as lead actor? Really? I could name half a dozen ahead of him in that brilliant cast… but yay for Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright and the utterly outstanding Thandie Newton).
Stoked for the love of the mesmerising The Night Of… but again William H. Macy as the sole representative for Shameless? Hello! Emmy Rossum? Sigh…
And I think Big Little Lies will scoop its categories.
Plenty more to talk about… but so little room ?

    1. I think Mandy Moore missed because her ‘older, present day mum’ just doesn’t ring true because I can’t get past the make up & wig.
