Queenslander singer Judah Kelly has won The Voice for 2017.
The 20 year old from Team Delta defeated 18 year old Melbourne vocalist Hoseah Partsch from Team George.
He wins the $100,000 prize and a contract from Universal Music.
“I’m pretty psyched,” he said.
“I can’t believe I actually made it this far. Thank you. That’s all I can say.”
In a powerhouse finale, singers Fasika Ayallew (Team Kelly) and Lucy Sugerman (Team Seal) were eliminated, leaving the title as a battle between the boys.
Nine’s finale also included performances from Katy Perry, Niall Horan and Noah Cyrus.
Head of Content, Production and Development, Adrian Swift, said: “We are so proud to have found a voice as truly brilliant as Judah – he epitomises what this show is about – finding the best voice in Australia. And Team Delta takes the crown for a second year. Congratulations and our sincere gratitude to all for a brilliant series.”
George Ash, President, Universal Music Australia, added, “We are so pleased to welcome Judah to the Universal Music family and are thrilled once again to be have been part of such a highly talented and competitive season. We congratulate all the artists and fabulous coaches and look forward to working with Judah on his new single ‘Count On Me’ and upcoming album. I also want to thank our EMI artists Katy Perry and Niall Horan for being part of the finale festivities.”

Well hope he’s successful than the past winners. The only one I think has done ok is Harrison.
Congratulations to both Judah and Hoseah.
They were by far the best two singers – streets ahead of the rest.
I was hoping Hoseah would win, as he’s such a lovely person and I thought he had the slightly better voice. Also his “winner’s” single was far better than Judah’s.
Boy George has been a delight as a judge – witty, charming, entertaining and far humbler and warmer than I thought he’s be.
On the other hand, Seal has been a massive pain..
Concur with all of the above!
Really hope George takes Hoseah under his wing and opens up some more doors for him – he’s too talented for his story to end here.
He would be perfect at Carols By Candlelight for a start.
Who won last year? or the year before that?
Alfie arcuri won last year on team Delta. His new song was in the top 10 on iTunes last week. Also the year before was Ellie Drennan on Jessie J’s team. Not sure what she’s up to tho… maybe google it? ?
Anja Nissen won in 2014, Harrison Craig in 2013 and Karise Eden in 2012. Both the runner-up in 2012, Darren Percival, and Harrison Craig are regular performers at a range of venues up here in Queensland.
Didn’t watch any of it this year and by the sounds of it I haven’t missed much.
Let ‘King’ Judah wear the crown – to me it is not all about the voice, more about charisma, voice, presentation. So congratulations Fasika and Hoseah you are the real winners in the end.
I didn’t watch all of it but it appeared to be a very well produced finale. For me, Fasika was the stand out performer.
and so ends another music career, coming to a westfield near you…
12 months time we will be thinking ….. who?
That long. I’m asking who already.
