Homeland finale delayed to 2020

Originally due in June, the final season is now out until February.

SBS had announced Homeland as screening in June, but US producers recently confirmed the 8th and final series is pushed out to February 2020 -nearly a 2 year wait for fans.

Homeland is an ambitious series — especially in its final season,” Showtime’s president of entertainment Gary Levine recently said.

“[Showrunner] Alex [Gansa] wants to go out proudly, and that has involved production in multiple countries at times and in places that have some issues. It just takes time.

“There have been no missteps,” he added. “It’s been a relatively smooth process. But it’s a very ambitious production schedule and it has taken more time than we [anticipated].”

Homeland‘s 12-episode finale is being shot on location in Morocco, with the North African country doubling as Afghanistan.
