Say bye to variety for me
The Noughties will end with a nail in the coffin of variety after Rove McManus announced he was winding down his show last Sunday. It closed a ten year chapter for the genre with a string of Logies, A-List guests and live memories to take home. Without any advance warning it also didn’t pull the kind of figures such a farewell deserved. Both the night and the week went Seven’s way for the second last week of the ratings season.

The last Rove
The last ever episode of Rove signed off with 760,000 viewers.
While it was far from the show’s biggest audience, it was a shock announcement at 9:37pm. If the powers that be chose to give it a big send-off it could have enjoyed a much bigger farewell. But ’surprise’ was the key word and it managed to avoid most leaks.
But Sunday belonged to Seven with a huge share thanks to The Force, Border Security, Seven News, Bones, Sunday Night and Castle all winning their slots.

So where’s Tiger?
As far as media buzz goes right now he’s hotter than Britney. But Tiger Woods will be barely visible on television screens this morning unless you happen to catch him on the Today show.
Woods tees off at 7:30am AEDT, but Nine’s coverage of the Australian Masters doesn’t begin until 12:30pm AEDT, and FOX Sports has the same start-tinme.
The Today show will include select moments of the international champion, but not his entire morning round.
Instead, Nine will show highlights of his first round during its afternoon telecast hosted by Eddie McGuire.

Tiger keeps media on their toes
Channel Nine will break into programming for Tiger Woods’ first and only Press Conference today, expected to be around 12pm.
Meanwhile, the draw for the sellout Australian Masters is to be finalised today.
Woods could be teeing off at around 7 am on Thursday, well before coverage starts on Nine and FOX Sports at 12:30pm.
But Nine also has the Today show on location.
He is also expected to play just after noon on Friday.

Eddie to host Tiger’s game
Eddie McGuire will host Nine’s coverage of the JBWere Masters fromĀ next month.
Joining him will be leading golf commentators, Ian Baker-Finch and Jack Newton and sitting alongside them in the commentary box will be Mark Nicholas, Brett Ogle and Warren Smith.
Out on the course and in the clubhouse are Lucas Parsons and Ian Healy while Nathan Thompson will be roving around the Kingston Heath course.

Airdate: Australian Masters Golf
Nine’s broadcast of the Australian Masters Golf from Kingston Heath in Melbourne will begin at 12:30pm Thursday November 12th. The event will feature Tiger Woods.
It will air for 5 hours in the afternoon and continues Friday & Saturday with a Final Round on Sunday November 15th.
Earlier this year it was feared the event featuring Tiger Woods might not be seen on Free to Air television after networks deemed a $3m price tag as being too expensive.
But Nine signed a joint deal with FOX Sports which will also screen it.
