Gone: Ocean Force, Beat Squad
Seven is dropping two late night factual imports from its schedule effective immediately.
Ocean Force will not air tonight -instead replaced with a repeat of Border Patrol at 11pm.
Wednesday night’s Beat Squad is also out, replaced with a repeat of Highway Patrol at 11pm, effectively creating a double episode from its already-slated 10:30 repeat.
Two more will air next Wednesday night.
There is still a TBA at 19:30pm Monday March 29th. Surely something with the word “Patrol” in it?
Any suggestions guys?
Bumped: Royal Pains
Another Channel Seven show has been amended in its schedule, this time US dramedy Royal Pains.
The series, about a young doctor who becomes a reluctant doctor to the rich and famous, rated 322,000 at 10:30pm on Monday night.
It will not air next week, but returns in a new timeslot of 11pm Sundays following Scrubs, and in place of Air Crash Investigations.
Seven has opted not to fill the Monday slot with drama or comedy, instead adding repeats of factual series Border Patrol and the premiere of Ocean Force, following US Lifeguards. They …
Summer’s winners and losers
The summer ratings season of 2009 -2010 has ended.
And while Seven has come out on top, Nine also found reason to smile.
Seven won summer in Total People, but Nine and the ABC both increased their shares based on last summer. TEN took the biggest dive of all 5 Free to Air Networks.
Total People: 2009 – 2010 (2008 – 2009)
Seven: 29.4 (29.6)
Nine: 27.6 (26.9)
TEN: 18.5 (19.7)
ABC: 17.5 (16.6)
SBS: 6.9 (7.1)
But comparisons to last summer are tricky given not all networks had digital channels operating, and Timeshifting was also introduced on December 27th.
Both …
ABC tops TEN in summer
The Seven Network has snared a win in the second week of non-ratings. But it was ABC that upstaged everyone -it defeated TEN in Week 50 and was first on Saturday night in Total People.
Seven: 28.5
Nine: 27.4
ABC: 18.5
TEN: 18.2
SBS: 7.5
TEN’s humiliating fourth position included two nights in fourth -as low as 14.1% on Friday night.
Seven won all cities except Melbourne -taken by Nine by just 0.1%.
Border Patrol was again the number one show for the week on 1.35m viewers.
Week 50
Nine wins Week 49
The Nine Network has won the first week of summer non-ratings.
Nine: 27.7
Seven: 27.3
TEN: 19.2
ABC: 18.2
SBS: 7.5
Nine won Sydney & Melbourne. Seven took the rest.
The top show was Border Patrol with 1.49m on Seven.
Week 49
Seven summer update
Seven has updated its first week of summer programming, filling in several TBAs and shuffling a few shows around.
New titles include Stephen Fry in Kingdom as a kindly solicitor who devotes his career to representing the oddball people in the Norfolk town of Market Shipborough, England. Kenneth Brannagh stars as Inspector Kurt Wallander, a brilliant detective who takes each murder case he works on personally and will stop at nothing in his search for the truth. The Take is a UK drama set in the criminal underworld of the East End …
Bumped: Bones, Castle
You can blame Dancing with the Stars for this one.
Seven’s return of its variety show will stretch from 6:30 – 9pm on Sunday July 5th, a whopping 2.5 hrs of sambas and sequins.
As a result Bones is pushed back to 9pm, followed by Castle at 10pm.
Seven deletes Border Patrol at 10:30pm but ensures 24 stays put at 11pm.
Traditionally as Dancing begins to lose contestants the show starts to trim its length, but that is likely to take at least 2-3 weeks.
