Airdate: Forbes 20 Under 25: Young Rich and Famous
Some will say it’s the power of the web. Others will say it’s just another network amendment. Either way, Channel TEN is no longer screening the American version of Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?
At least not on November 20th it isn’t. Any further than that and we’ll just have to wait and see.
When TV Tonight ran the news just three days ago, it wasn’t in very complimentary terms. Readers agreed that the idea to follow the Rove-hosted series with the American version was a baffling choice.
Maybe Programmers heard and …
TV Forums report card
Since the advent of online, television fans have had ways of letting networks know what they think. No more writing letters to newspapers, it’s as easy as logging onto a network website anonymously and speaking your mind.
TV Tonight has been looking at how our networks embrace free and open discussion. Here’s how they stacked up.
ABC:
Within the ABC site there are individual show pages, many of which have open forums. Shows including Enough Rope, Compass, Can We Help?, At The Movies, Life at 3, Good Game, Media Watch, Spicks and Specks and …
Burn Notice and Psych renewed
Not that it may mean much in Australia, but Burn Notice and Psych have been renewed by the cable network, USA. Both shows received orders for 16 episodes.
For Burn Notice it is a third season and the fourth for Psych.
New episodes of Psych are currently screening on TEN HD 10:30pm Wednesdays, but are well behind in the first season.
Burn Notice meanwhile is in a state of limbo on TEN with two episodes left unaired.
New episodes for both shows are scheduled to kick off in the US in January, although Psych has …
Seriously confusing Mondays
Updated. In the musical chairs that is Network TEN’s Mondays (seriously) comes another round of changes to keep viewers on their toes. Have some sympathy for the poor folk at Pagemasters who have to enter these into all your print guides…
Now it seems Supernatural is returning, with a double season premiere at 8:30pm Monday October 6th. The first hour screened in the US last week. A week later it screens at 9:30pm.
That pushes 90210 out to a new time of Fridays at 8:30pm, edging the movie The Bourne Supremacy to 9:30pm.
Plans …
Burn Notice… bad news week
Burn Notice fans are not a bunch to quietly. Last time TEN took the show off air they protested so much the network did a backflip within 24 hours. Part of that was also due to the good ratings it won during the Olympics.
But it seems they just don’t have enough fans. How else do you explain that it’s being rested by TEN -again.
One more episode will air next Monday, “Rough Seas” episode 7 of the second season. Three more eps will go begging for now.
The drama also didn’t air this …
Torchwood simmers while AFL burns
Fans of Captain Jack and co. you have the Brownlow Medal and 90210 to “thank” for this.
This Monday night there is no Torchwood because of the AFL’s night of nights at Crown Casino. That means 90210 and Burn Notice are also off air as a result. In NSW and QLD, TEN has 90210 followed by highlights from the Emmy Awards.
So on Monday September 29 there is still some adjustment to do. Viewers in Vic, SA and WA will have a double 90210 in order to catch up to other states, followed …
Australian Idol: Verdict Show
“Idol’s Monday night was always a bit of a naff for the audience because it was really just 15 minutes of content rolled out over an hour, but we’ve recognised that and strengthened it,” Dicko said two weeks ago.
To borrow a Big Brother phrase: I don’t think so.
Instead, Monday night’s Verdict edition consisted of 15 minutes of content rolled out over 70 minutes.
This year Idol decided to flag the bottom three at the top of the show and re-open the voting lines (ker-ching) to close at 8pm AEST. Viewers in …
90210, Burn Notice, Torchwood ten minutes later
This Monday night most TEN shows are pushed back by ten minutes due to a 70 minute edition of Australian Idol -and this all because of the same show that they admitted had been ten minutes of interest padded out to sixty…
As a result Monday night’s schedule will be:
7:00 Taken Out
7:30 Australian Idol
8:40 90210
9:40 Burn Notice
10:40 Ten Late News With Sports Tonight
11:25 The Late Show With David …

Fans keep Burn Notice fire alive
TEN continues to make alterations to its programming regarding Burn Notice, but the news is good for fans.
Instead of early plans for a movie on Monday September 15 at 9:30pm, it will air another episode of the US action drama, with the episode, “Bad Blood.” This is the second last to have aired so far in America.
Next week of course the show is absent due to the 2 hour premiere of 90210. There were some unanswered questions about whether the show would return.
TEN had already done one backflip on Burn Notice …
