Following on from the select highlights for ABC 2010, some readers have been asking about returning shows.

As we know The Einstein Factor, Sunday Arts and triple j with the doctor have all ended.

triple j with the doctor ending

ABC series triple j with the doctor is finishing after four seasons.

The youth show hosted by triple j radio presenter The Doctor (Lindsay McDougall) aired its last ever episode on Monday night on ABC2.

The sometimes-irreverent show included interviews, comedy, music performances, segments from Sam Simmons (The Urban Monkey with Murray Foote) and radio shows including Hack and behind the scenes footage from radio shows.

The Doctor hosted the show linking together various elements of the show. The episode which aired on Monday only indicated a 2009 final, not the end of the …

Can We Help? dumps studio format for 2010

Exclusive: ABC series Can We Help? might be in need of a little help of its own following confirmation it is undergoing significant format changes in 2010.

The light entertainment series, which answers general knowledge questions and arranges reunions from viewer enquiries, will no longer be filmed in studio.

Host Peter Rowsthorn told TV Tonight he expected to instead be filming links to stories.

“They’re taking it out of the studio next year, so they’re changing the format,” he said. “I’ll be doing all the links. There’ll be in no more chats in between …

ABC appoints new Head of Factual

The ABC has appointed a new Head of Factual Programming, Jennifer Collins, who has been serving as ABC TV Arts, Entertainment and Comedy’s Manager of Development.

Collins will oversee ABC’s slate of factual shows including Gardening Australia, Message Stick, Compass, Q&A, Talking Heads, The Cook and the Chef, Can we Help, Fora, Catalyst, and The Collectors. She will report to the Executive Head of Content Creation, Courtney Gibson.
