The prequel to Battlestar Galactica makes its debut in the US this week. The series starring Eric Stoltz is set 58 years before the events seen in Battlestar. The plot tells the story of how ‘Colonial humanity first created the robotic Cylons, who would later plot to destroy human civilization in retaliation for their enslavement.’
While the Pilot was released online last April, there are now reviews emerging of the series.
Variety liked what it saw, saying:
“At first blush, the idea of a “Battlestar Galactica” prequel provoked skepticism of the …

“We love being sci fi and we’re still embracing that,” said network president Dave Howe. “But we’re more than just space and aliens and the future – the three things most people think of when they think of ’sci fi.’”
Fair point. The Twilight Zone always had plenty of fantastical episodes, without a spaceship in sight.

Universal Studios has reportedly entered into negotiations with Glen A. Larson to write and produce a big-screen version of Battlestar Galactica.

Larson devised the original series (pictured) in 1978 in which a human civilization were living on a series of 12 planets that are decimated from an attack by intelligent robots known as Cylons.
Ronald Moore revived the series to much acclaim, including re-telling the story with …
