Nine will begin filming the second season of RESCUE Special Ops on Monday (technically that’s it’s correct spelling).

The second season of Nine / Southern Star Entertainment drama will feature a mine collapse, a child abduction, a marina fire, a train wreck, a light plane crash and more.

Chase (Andrew Lees) and Dean Gallagher (Les Hill) are living together, Lara (Gigi …

Jodi Gordon set for Cops LAC at Nine

Actress Jodi Gordon has been offered a role in Nine’s newest drama series, Cops LAC.

The news follows stories this week that she would be leaving Home and Away, first reported that she had quit, then followed with another report Seven had let her go.

The Sunday Telegraph reports she first auditioned for a role on Cops LAC two weeks ago, well before contradictory stories emerged.

During the week co-star Lynne McGranger told NEW FM, Jodi was not pushed from Seven.

“I will say that’s absolutely wrong. It was her decision,” she said. …

Kate Ritchie for Cops LAC

Last November this site scooped the news on Nine’s new police drama Cops LAC (Local Area Command) for 2010.

And it was then that I threw the name Kate Ritchie into the ring as an obvious name for casting.

Today the Daily Telegraph says she has just finalised a contract with Nine to do just that, in a return to acting after concluding her Nova radio gig.

“It was Underbelly’s fault,” she tells Woman’s Day, out today. “It felt so good and comfortable (being on set). It’s nice to be working with …

TV Tonight turns 3!

Today this site notches up its third birthday.

In 2007 when I first started this blog it was to complement the TV commentary I was already doing in various forms on radio, print and online. At the time Australian television sites on the internet were largely confined to messageboards, Guides and fansites. When the site launched there were a handful of visitors who welcomed the news, the updates and answers to TV questions.

Three years on the site has published over 9,700 stories and now pulls in up to one million hits a …

3 year plan for Cops LAC

TV Tonight reveals more on Nine’s new drama for 2010.

Cops. LAC (Local Area Command) is currently its working title.

The drama will be set at ‘Seaview Local Area Command.’

The series is set to shoot from next May as 13 x 1 episodes. Nine’s ambitious plan is to shoot a second series immediately on the back of the first, no doubt to save on costs. Depending on when the episodes air, it could run the risk of not seeing how the market takes to the show. The second series is hoping to increase …
