Well, we loved the theme song but really…
CBS has given a pilot commitment to an updated version of Hawaii Five-0, to be overseen by the writers of Fringe.

CSI: NY snubs Nat Bass audition
Some Aussie actors have been lucky enough to come from near-obscurity to landing US television roles, and others who are big fish in our relatively small industry have learned there are no easy ways to open doors in America.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte says that when she turned up for an audition on CSI: New York the producers didn’t even turn on the camera.
“It was a shock to the system and a very humbling experience,” she has told news.com.au
“It’s one thing being in Australia, where a lot of people know who you …
Gone: Dance Your Ass Off. Returning: Old Christine, CSI: NY
Try not to look surprised.
We all saw this comin’ as soon as it was announced. But it was pretty clear Nine was going all out with a do-or-die move with Dance Your Ass Off. Consider it dead, and jot it down as one of those titles we’ll all reference when we get to the end of the year and look back and ask “what the hell were they thinking?”
The show is no more. As of next week it’s more Two and a Half Men at 7:30pm followed by the return of …

Returning: CSI Miami. Gone: CSI: New York
Break out your sunnies. As part of a Sunday revamp, Nine is changing locales on its CSI franchise from New York to Miami.
Horatio returns with a double episode on Sunday June 14th from 9:30pm.
In Sydney and Brissy it will be Raging Cannonball / Bombshell from eps 4 & 5 from Series Seven.
In Melbourne, which is still ahead on episodes due to filling in without Underbelly around, it will be Power Trip / The Deluca Motel, eps 9 & 10.
Returning: Missing Persons Unit. Gone: Eleventh Hour. Bumped: Underbelly
More changes from Nine Inc. indicate Eleventh Hour is to go, replaced on Monday June 1st by the return of Missing Persons Unit at 9:30pm.
On Tuesdays, the Underbelly Uncut repeats from series one are removed to be replaced by movies, Wedding Crashers (2005) with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughan.
Underbelly moves to Mondays in Sydney and Brisbane at 10:30pm Monday June 1st while Melbourne (and other ‘AFL states’) have Footy Classified. Melbourne is still constrained by only being able to air 5 (edited) episodes anyway.
This leaves CSI: NY out of schedule on …
Sunday ratings no simple song & dance
On Sunday night the ABC lost some of its audience to SBS and its Eurovision broadcast.
ABC’s share was down to 12.7%, while SBS lifted to 9.9%. Last Sunday ABC had 13.3% and SBS 4.3%. The song contest took 482,000 across its 3+ hours and enjoyed its biggest audience in Melbourne, as it does customarily. Last year competing with Big Brother live evictions and Gladiators it grabbed 427,000.
There were huge audiences for Seven News 1.7m and Nine News 1.54m but at 6:30pm Merlin’s 1.37m topped Sunday Night’s 1.22m -with AFL in Adelaide, …
Returning: CSI: New York
Gary Sinise and his team at CSI: New York are coming back next month with new episodes.
“Sex, Lies and Silicone” will air on Nine at 9:30pm Sunday May 10th.
This is the fourth episode of the fifth series, which aired last October in the US. It will take the place of CSI: Miami which has effectively finished new episodes on Nine.
Still no word on Without a Trace, which was flagged for new episodes some time ago.
The Unusuals: reviews
Nine has the rights to the new US cop drama The Unusuals, which made a sluggish debut this week in the US, earning just 6.8 million viewers in its 10 p.m. time slot. The show, with Amber Tamblyn and Jeremy Renner, trailed CBS’s CSI: NY (which drew 12.5 million) but outperformed NBC’s 10 p.m. repeat of Law & Order (4.7 million).
EW.com liked the show saying:… I’m still sorta surprised that I liked ABC’s latest offering, The Unusuals, as much as I did. They’re telling you how “kooky” it is right …
Death becomes TV
Spoiler, spoiler, spoiler.
American shows are bumpin’ off characters left, right and centre.
Several will be major characters. While many are in yet to air season finales, one has already done so in an episode yet to air in Oz. And another will kill off a regular this week in the US.
EW.com has put together a cluey little list, which details shows, hints at characters and even announces one definite (big spoiler there).
To help you figure out if it’s worth a visit or not, I’ll list the shows in question but no …
