Ally McBeal reunion

The dancing baby, the unisex bathroom, the quirky stories, the fantasy storytelling, the Vonda Shepard songs…seven years after Ally McBeal ended, the cast reunited for Good Morning America to plug their DVD release.

The show ran from 1997 to 2002 set in the fictional Boston law firm Cage, Fish and Associates. Writer David E. Kelley, who also sat down for the chat, certainly had an amazing output.

Jane Krakowski, who was in New York is there via link. No Lucy Liu, Portia De Rossi or Dame Edna Everage either….

Marlon, Tito and Jackie Jackson were being interviewed by Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent in London on Thursday when they were told about Hey Hey’s now notorious ‘Jackson Jive’ sketch.

Whitney on the publicity trail

Heads up fans of Whitney Houston. She’s a-comin back and US television is soaking it up.

She’s just given a free performance in Central Park, NYC which will air soon on Good Morning America. It coincides with her new album, I Look To You.

Nine airs this episode tomorrow morning (Thursday Sept 3) at 3:30am.

Houston will also give her first interview in seven years for Oprah’s season premiere on September 14th (US). The interview is billed as “the most anticipated music interview of the decade”. A bit of a stretch perhaps, but a …

Rove special struggles in the US

Rove’s special for the US ABC Network, The List, landed last in its timeslot. At 2.9m viewers, it was a long way behind The Mentalist on 10.8m viewers.

The special, looking back on 2008 newsmakers, was preceded by a Donnie and Marie Osmond-hosted reality special. It managed 4.6m viewers.

In the lead up to the special, Rove also appeared on Good Morning America, plugging the show.
