Parks and Recreation for Seven’s summer

Channel Seven has unveiled some of its summer programming, but kept its surprises under wraps.

It will premiere new US comedy Parks and Recreation, the mockumentary that replaced Kath & Kim (US). Written by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur it features Amy Poehler as the deputy director of the Parks and Recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana.

There are new  episodes of Band of Brothers, Gary Unmarried, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

In repeat are How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, Better Homes and Gardens.

Seven amendment update

A pile of changes are in for Seven for the last two weeks of ratings. It’s bad news if you like American Dad but good news if you prefer Family Guy.

Gone: Sunny in Philadelphia, Trinny & Susannah. Bumped: Scrubs, Saved.

Quite a few programming changes through today from Seven, impacting particularly on late night shows.

It’s bad news for fans of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia now out of schedule. It will be replaced by a double repeat of Boston Legal, effective next week. Last night the US comedy took 114,000, less than half Boston’s 350,000.

Saved also moves to midnight Tuesdays (or 12am Wednesdays to be correct) from next week.

Plans to return Trinny & Susannah are now out, replaced by double Scrubs repeats. As a result the medical sitcom is out on …

Returning: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns to Seven this month, 11:30pm Monday July 20.

“The Gang Gets Held Hostage” is the fourth ep of S3. It aired in the US in September 2007.

Mac, Charlie, Dennis and his sister, Dee – four friends and co-owners of Paddy’s Irish Pub in Philadelphia return with all new episodes. The gang is taken hostage by the McPoyles but they end up being more of a threat to each other than their captors.
