7PM Project on the road

On Friday at the Kid’s Choice Awards Carrie Bickmore let slip to TV Tonight about some future plans for The 7PM Project.

“It’s still fun, it’s not work yet. And we’re taking the show on the road to other cities,” she said.

There are whispers the show could be doing that sooner rather than later, in a bid to lift a national profile for the show.

TV Tonight hears the network hopes to put the show down in another city before the year is out.

It follows the show getting an extra 30 minutes airtime …

Rove quits TEN show

Rove McManus has announced he is stepping down from his Channel TEN show.

“I’ve decided after ten years of doing the show tonight will be my last one,” he said.

“This is purely my decision. It’s not one I have made lightly or flippantly, or easily I must say. I just think the timing is right. I need to stop, take a step back and see what happens next,” he said.

“It’s something that has been sitting on my mind a little bit.  Now after ten wonderful years I think we’re at the perfect …

On the Orange Carpet

Friday’s Kids’ Choice Awards was a chance to throw a question (and not much more than 1) to some of television’s famous faces.

Here is a random selection answers from questions posed by TV Tonight on the Orange Carpet.

Charlie Pickering on The 7PM Project’s extra time over summer:

“Every day that we do the show we wind up having to drop stuff. So having that extra thirty minutes allows us to stretch our legs and have a bit more fun over summer.

“The other night we had Ben Elton and George Negus …

KCAs 09: Orange Carpet / Winners

Rove McManus was crowned king of the kids at the 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards yesterday -the only performer to take out two awards. In addition to his accolades he received the greatest honour of all -a pure green slime shower.

McManus took out the Fave TV Star and Fave Aussie gongs.

Other television winners included MasterChef Australia, iCarly and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Many of the other winners were in attendence to collect their blimp trophys including Jessica Mauboy, Short Stack, Dean Geyer, …

iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove joins Kid’s Choice Awards

iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove is the latest name to be added to the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

She joins as Special Guest Star for the event to be hosted by Delta Goodrem, with co-hosts Joel and Benji Madden from Good Charlotte.

“My friends and I look forward to Kids’ Choice Awards each year as we just love it, so to be travelling to Australia for the first time makes it even more exciting! I can’t wait to meet Australian kids and be part of the show… I just hope I get slimed …

Good Charlotte for Idol

Australian Idol will get back to its core audience with the announcement of Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden as mentors and guest judges on Sunday 1st November.

Most of the guests judges this year have been arguably outside the demographic of the show including Suzi Quatro, Ross Wilson, Harry Connick Jr. and Liza Minnelli.

The two will appear on the week that sees the Top 4 tackle songs from “The Noughties.”

The Madden twins are also co-hosting the Kid’s Choice Awards with Delta Goodrem for Nickelodeon on November 13th.

Good Charlotte boys to co-host Kid’s Choice Awards

US Punk / Pop performer Joel and Benji Madden from Good Charlotte have been named as co-hosts for Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards.

The twin brothers will join Delta Goodrem to front the sold-out event next month at HiSense Arena, Melbourne.

“We’re pumped about coming to Australia to Co-Host the Kids’ Choice Awards. We had a blast in Australia in 2007 when we opened the show, so we know Aussie kids can party with the best of them.

“But we better get slimed this time, like how Delta got done big time in 07! Bring …

Sold on Kid’s Choice Awards

Still a month to go but Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards is already a sellout, just a day after it announced Deltra Goodrem as host.

4000 tickets have been sold, 500 more than last year, for the event at Hisense Arena in November.

With tickets now completely sold out, the only way to score tix will be through upcoming competitions.

Nickelodeon is offering a VIP experience for one winner and a friend, including Orange Carpet Grandstand seats and accommodation. To enter you need to vote before Sunday 1st November through www.nickelodeon.com.au or through the …

Delta to host Kid’s Choice Awards

Delta Goodrem will host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in November.

Previous hosts have set the bar high and although I can’t reveal just yet who my Co-Hosts will be, I can promise kids that this year …

2009 Kid’s Choice Awards: Nominees

Channel TEN brands remain popular with Australian tweens and kids according to the nominees in this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
