Goodbye, ‘Carmella.’

Gold Logie nominee Natalie Blair has her final scene in tonight’s Neighbours.

Blair has hit the fame train for her performance in the TEN soap. If it wasn’t for a Logie nomination (in fact, two) the wider audience may not have been quite so familiar with her.

In fact Blair, won the Best New Talent award in 2005, and was nominated for Gold just two years later.

She first joined the series in guest roles in 2003 as Carmella Cammeniti, returning later with storylines that saw her move from a role as a nun …

In Australian television stars always know they’d made it when they landed their first TV Week cover.  It’s the Rolling Stone of Aussie telly. But what does it take to get a cover …

Kate Ritchie will return as host of Carols in the Domain for the Seven Network this year, after co-hosting the event with Grant Denyer in 2007.

A co-host is yet to be announced.

“It’s a real honour to host,” says Kate. “As a kid we’d always watch the Carols on the TV at home. And now to be up there on that stage is amazing.

“I think the Carols make everyone stop and enjoy the Christmas spirit. Everyone gets caught up in Christmas shopping and getting ready for the day, and the Carols give …

“Better than a Logie”

Actress Claudia Karvan is the final Celebrity in a Bog Standard Car for Top Gear Australia. She joked that doing her hotlap on the test track was better than winning a Logie.

And risking people saying “I told you so”, there is again another Holden v Ford battle. Before the series launched producers promised there would be a lot more to the Aussie version than relying these two cars.

Series 11 of the British original returns to SBS Monday week.

Press Release:

It’s the final episode of the series and Top Gear Australia takes …

“I’m not sure what Judi is like, but I want to give a true representation, hopefully one that will make her pleased,” she said.

The 1970’s series has been …

Gabriella Cilmi: ‘I wasn’t tipsy’

Six-time ARIA winner Gabriella Cilmi has answered the question everybody was asking, and says, nope, she was sober at the big event.

“I was actually jetlagged, I wasn’t tipsy,” the 17yo told news.com.au.

“But I can have one glass of wine.”

The speculation followed her less-than-articulate acceptance speeches (six of them) at Sunday’s ARIAs, which followed a recurring theme of “wow..really cool, like…” and similar gushing phrases. Through the television set is appeared that Cilmi was letting the night get the better of her. But that’s the problem with television. It never really captures …

Steve Curry for AFI Awards

Actor Stephen Curry, whose knockabout Logie speech was one of this year’s more memorable acceptance speeches will host this year’s Australian Film Institute Awards.

Curry won an AFI for his role as Graham Kennedy in The King, along with a Logie and an ASTRA Award.

“I think on the whole in Australia it’s probably pretty important to have a sense of fun about (hosting), not take ourselves overly seriously but at the same time be able to toe the line of reverence,” he told news.com.au.

Curry is co-writing the show with comedy writer …

Returning: Jamie Oliver. Bumped: Kenny. Gone: Bondi

No surprises here, TEN has finally moved on its under-performing 7:30pm Wednesday timeslot and dropped Bondi Rescue: Bali immediately.

It will replace it with Jamie’s Ministry of Food from Wednesday October 8.

Kenny’s World will move to 8pm Tuesdays from October 14, edging out the second of a double Simpsons finale.

The switch is designed to address disappointing returns for House and plug the lack of interest in Bondi Rescue: Bali. Despite stellar ratings for the original Bondi series, and a Logie win, the Bali version hasn’t connected with audiences.

This week it only managed …
