Lawrence Leung will almost single-handedly drag the ’80s back to Aussie telly.

This unassuming comedian punctuates his new comedy series with references to Rubik’s Cube, breakdancing, Tiffany, INXS, The Karate Kid, MacGyver, movie soundtracks, TV themes and more.

In his 6 part series, Leung  revisits aspects of his adolescence as episodic missions, in much the same way that Earl has a weekly challenge in My Name is Earl.

Next week Lawrence Leung fulfills a life-long ambition. Not in getting his own ABC comedy series (although that’s pretty cool in itself)  but in tracking down a childhood sweetheart and confessing his unrequited love.

Lawrence hasn’t seen ‘Angela’ since 4th grade, and now twenty years later he wants to locate her and share his feelings via a love song on his guitar. Who wouldn’t?

90210 will air as a Sunday 7:30pm show for summer.

“Hollywood Forever”, the seventh episode in the series screens on Sunday November 30th, but it follows the show returning next week on Monday night. We’re haven’t even started summer and already shows are moving nights…
