What’s happened to HD?

Programming on HD channels has taken a holiday at some networks, with fleeting attention by networks to provide decent alternative viewing.

On some days next week on TEN HD there is only 3 hours of dedicated programming. On other days there is none.

Evening HD programming has dried up over summer on TEN, with no alternatives once provided by shows like Monk, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Torchwood, Eureka and The X Files. Those shows have now either concluded, without being replaced, or simply stopped.

When TEN HD was announced by TEN it promised “50 hours …

The Carver gets Pay back

The fourth season is currently airing on 9HD on Monday nights, but the third series of salacious surgery drama Nip / Tuck, and its best, comes to the W Channel next month.

It airs from 9:50pm Saturday December 6 on the W Channel.

For Channel Nine viewers in some states who missed out on learning the identity of The Carver, this might be worth keeping an eye on.

Press Release:
Set in Miami, Nip/Tuck exposes the psychological truths behind love and friendship, loyalty and fidelity, revealing the lives of two plastic surgeons, best friends and …

When Rosie met Julian

Monday night on Nip / Tuck you’ll finally get to see Rosie O’Donnell as a trailer trash mother who wins the lottery. So she turns to McNamara Troy for some lipo and to fix her daughter’s navel and hubby’s small penis.

But in the show’s usually outrageous style, she ends up on the floor in a sex scene with Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon).

There’s a discreetly placed white sheet over them.

In the days when she was on The View (yes it was that long ago), Rosie was talkin’ up the scene …

Nine refuses to reveal The Carver

As some readers on this site have commented, and as Andrew Mercado referenced in yesterday’s Sunday Telegraph, viewers in Sydney and Brisbane are still - STILL - waiting to learn the identity of The Carver in the third series of Nip / Tuck.

As the major storyline of the entire third series, and arguably the peak of the show’s writing, The Carver mystery was the show’s very own “Who Shot JR?” or “Who Killed Laura Palmer?” Writer Ryan Murphy teased us with several candidates as to the mystery of the serial …

Whatever happened to Nip / Tuck?

Don’t pretend you don’t remember. It’s that show that’s known for being outrageous with its storylines, with two polar opposite plastic surgeons in Miami with the most bizarre of patients.

But where did Nip / Tuck go?

Last time we visited the practice of McNamara / Troy they had just escaped the serial attacker The Carver. But the way Nine messed around with the episodes we were left hanging on a knife-edge, awaiting conclusive episodes. That was back around March or so, and they were episodes made in 2005.

Since then two series have …

Nip / Tuck cast want a little salary botox

“Tell me what you don’t like about your salary…”

The sixth and final season of FX’s Nip/Tuck begins filming on Monday but there are reports the stars are deep in salary renegotiations.

Talks for stars Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh and regulars Joely Richardson, Kelly Carlson and Roma Maffia (a regular on Boston Legal) have been ongoing for weeks.

For the last series, McMahon and Walsh secured about $125,000 an episode (a far cry from Home & Away, eh Jules?), with Richardson close behind at about $100,000.

This year, McMahon and Walsh reportedly are seeking …

Katee Sackhoff lands lead in NBC pilot

Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff has been cast in the lead role of Lost and Found, the Dick Wolf-produced drama created by Chris Levinson (Law & Order, Tru Calling, Charmed).

The dynamic Sackhoff will play an offbeat female LAPD detective who, after butting heads with superiors, is sent as a punishment to the basement to work on ‘John Doe and Jane Doe’ cases.

The casting of Sackhoff means a firm production order for the pilot, which was picked up last month as cast-contingent.

Updated: Sackhoff, who also had roles on Bionic Woman, was also to …
