Pilot approvals: FOX, ABC, NBC, AMC, Warners.

There have been a number of Pilots recently approved in the US.

They are as follows:

FOX
-Traffic Light from The Wedding Crashers co-writer Bob Fisher (Married with Children, The Trouble with Normal) revolves around three male friends in different stages of relationships.

- Breakout Kings from writers/executive producers Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora (Prison Break), a closed-ended procedural about a team of marshals and ex-cons who work together to apprehend criminals who break out of prison.

- Strange Brew, from Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick is set at a family-owned brewery.

Fringe without benefits

Q: So why would GO! bother taking out single episodes of Fringe and Eleventh Hour just to play a movie and then reschedule them next week instead? It shouldn’t really matter on GO! right? Wrong.

A: It’s the final week of ratings. As of yesterday the Nine Network and the Seven Network were tied on exactly 27.9% each in the 18-49 demographic for the survey year.

Of course, that includes both GO! and 7TWO in the equation, which have only both been on air together for a handful of weeks. But winning that …

Returning: Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Wire, Fringe

As promised, those shows that have been dumped from GO! are back once non-ratings begin.

This is because Nine is keen to lift its network share in the final days of the ratings year. Probably so it can claim the “Nine Network” won key demographics.

South Park is back 8:30pm Sunday November 29th
Curb Your Enthusiasm is back 9:30pm Sunday November 29th
Weeds is back 10:00pm Sunday November 29th dbl ep

The Bachelor is back 10:30pm Tuesday December 1

Fringe is back 8:30pm Thursday December 2
The Wire is back 9:30pm Wednesday December 2

Gone: The Hills, Father of the Pride.

Some lengthy changes have come through for Saturdays on GO!

They are bad news for fans of The Hills, Father of the Pride and South Park.

From this Saturday The Hills is replaced with The Nanny and Get Smart from 6pm.

Father of the Pride, South Park and Reno 9/11 are replaced by repeated of Seinfeld -although Reno 9/11 airs at 10:30pm.

Seinfeld lands a 2hr block from 8:30 – 10:30 as a result.

A GO! executive recently told media that the new channel would not be dropping shows from its schedule, but it might switch …

Hey Hey repeats on GO!

Nine will repeat both Hey Hey it’s Saturday reunions this Saturday night on GO!

The marathon/s will air from 6pm – 8:30pm and 8:30 – 11pm.

Nine pulled the first repeat last Saturday resulting in fan fury, amid speculation it would damage the ratings for the second show.

Update: But the repeat of the second show will not include the now infamous ‘Blackface’ sketch.

As a result the Dance Your Ass Off finale and channel premieres of Father of the Pride and Reno 911 all shift to October 17th.

GO! has official launch

GO! has its full channel launch from today. It follows the soft launch by the channel in early August.

Curb Your Enthusiasm and Weeds return to television in new episodes from 9:30 & 10:30pm tonight.

Tomorrow night Nip / Tuck, returns, while Father of the Pride and episodes of South Park and Reno 911 are also being added.

From 11th October, GO! gets local with split market commercials around Australia.

GO! full launch: Schedule

When GO! has its full launch on October 4th the channel will add titles including Australian premieres of  Nip / Tuck, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Weeds, Father of the Pride and episodes of South Park and Reno 911.

The Vampire Diaries launches next week, Monday September 28th.

The channel will be offering extra block repeating of its primetime shows from midnight. The Partridge Family also appears weekdays at 11:30am. So far GO! is yet to add other titles including The Wire (promised for October), Hell’s Kitchen and Privileged.

Curb, Wire & Weeds set to GO!

GO! has confirmed some of its titles to be added as part of its official launch.

It will screen Season 5 of The Wire, Season 6 of Curb Your Enthusiasm and Season 3 of Weeds in October.

It follows the premiere of The Vampire Diaries on September 28th.

It will also add Comedy Central shows South Park and Reno 911 which were secured as part of a new content partnership between GO! and MTV Networks International.

Comedy Channel programming update

Some programming changes coming to the Comedy Channel will see The Sarah Silverman Program move to 9.30pm (previously 9pm) from March 31st.

Curb Your Enthusiasm now moves to 10pm (previously 9.30pm).

Reno 911! has been removed from the March schedule. Its revised broadcast date is now April 28.
