Richard Hammond won a Children’s TV BAFTA Award in London on the weekend as Best Presenter, for his show that begins tomorrow night at 7:05pm on ABC3.

The Top Gear host wasn’t the only show on ABC3 and ABC for Kids to win an award.

Serious Ocean was selected as Best Factual Program. It begins here 11.20am on ABC3 from Dec 28th.

Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom won Best Pre School Animation. It screens weekdays from 21 Dec at 3.35pm on ABC1.

Meanwhile Lost & Found narrated by Jim Broadbent also won as Best Animation. …

This Friday, Australia gets another new channel, as ABC3 launches to children across the country.

The pride of the channel’s debut is the new Australian children’s drama production, My Place. It will look at the children who have lived and gathered in one spot across several generations, centering round a huge fig tree. It airs at 8pm this Friday night.

The channel launches at 6pm following a one hour launch broadcast on ABC1 headed up by the Prime Minister.
