Matthew Perry comedy for ABC network
America’s ABC network has picked up the rights to the new single-camera comedy being developed by Matthew Perry.
The former Friends and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip star will play a self-involved manager of a second-rate sports arena who begins to reevaluate his life on his 40th birthday.
The comedy is based on an idea by Perry, and will be written with Sony-based Alex Barnow and Marc Firek (both ofTil Death, Out of Practice, Family Guy). Thomas Schlamme (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The West Wing) will direct.

When Masi Oka met Studio 60
Heroes’ Masi Oka guest stars in a three part story on Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip which is still airing Thursday nights on 9HD. John Legend also appears in the three-parter.
Oka guest stars as himself hosting ‘the show within the show.’
“Monday” airs 10:30pm Thursday January 8th with two more to follow on January 15 and 22.

What’s happened to HD?
Programming on HD channels has taken a holiday at some networks, with fleeting attention by networks to provide decent alternative viewing.
On some days next week on TEN HD there is only 3 hours of dedicated programming. On other days there is none.
Evening HD programming has dried up over summer on TEN, with no alternatives once provided by shows like Monk, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Torchwood, Eureka and The X Files. Those shows have now either concluded, without being replaced, or simply stopped.
