Matt Passmore pilot gets US pick-up

Australia’s Matt Passmore has himself a US television series after the pilot episode of Sugarloaf was given the pick-up by the A& E network.

The cable network has given the greenlight to a 13-episode order.

Produced by FOX TV Studios, the drama describes Passmore as Jim Longworth “an attractive, brilliant, yet hard to get along with homicide detective from Chicago who after being wrongfully accused of sleeping with his former Captain’s wife, is forced into exile.”

Australian actress Radha Mitchell has missed out on her US drama The Quickening proceeding past its pilot.

The drama about a bipolar homicide detective has been rejected by the cable network A&E.

But the same network is yet to deliver its verdict on another project for fellow Aussie actor Matt Passmore.

Sugarloaf is expected to learn its fate by the end of the month.

Matt Passmore lands (another) US lead

Another US lead for another Aussie actor….

Matt Passmore has won the lead role in a drama pilot Sugarloaf for the A&E cable network.

He takes up the role after being released from his previous casting as the lead in Masterwork, written by Prison Break’s Paul T. Scheuring.

He will play Jim Longworth, an ex-Chicago cop who gets shot by his ex-captain who wrongfully accused him of having an affair with his wife. After getting kicked off the force, he receives a payout and joins the police in a small Florida town.
