7TWO hopes for original content

Channel Seven is hoping to add original content to 7TWO in the future.

Tim Worner, director of programming and production, told Television Business International vision: “We’d like to get the business to a point where the production of original content for it was viable. I sincerely hope that happens sooner rather than later.”

At the moment original content on most digital channels is slight, although ABC2 has some new titles in production. 7TWO currently has The F Word with Matt Moran.

F Word just an entree

One of the more curious additions to the 7TWO schedule is a local version of The F Word starring Matt Moran.

As one of the few local shows on the channel, it airs tonight at 8:30pm. Each week, top chef Matt Moran will work with an amateur team of cooks to put together a menu to feed fifty people. Tonight it includes, presumably as dining guests, singer Jade Macrae and Shane Jacobsen.

Welcome to 7TWO

When 7TWO launches at 12 midday on Sunday November 1st it begins with a five minute Welcome to 7TWO greeting. If it’s anything like theĀ  “It’s Time” clip on the Yahoo!7 website, expect a rousing Gough Whitlam-like motivational start-up.

From there it launches into Michael Jackson: His Last Televised Concert followed by Disney movies, the first four eps of Scrubs, and three more movies across Sunday night.
