Kimmel out of Comedy
With the return of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Comedy Channel has removed Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its line-up.
And it doesn’t look like he’s coming back anytime soon.
A Foxtel spokesperson told TV Tonight, “The Comedy Channel felt the schedule was crowded with talk shows, and while it trialled Jimmy Kimmel over the last six months, unfortunately it performed below expectations.
“As a result, the Late Night Legends line up has been re-jigged to include The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show with …
2010 Super Bowl ads
Look who joined David Letterman on his couch for a once-only advertisement that aired during today’s Super Bowl.
The ads are America’s premium TV commercial showcase, with campaigns launched and production values generally unmatched.

7PM Project no longer 11PM Project
TEN has changed plans to repeat The 7PM Project late nights once official ratings resume.
From Monday February 8th, the show will only air once per weeknight at 7pm.
Letterman will resume following TEN News with Sports Tonight at varying start times, between 11:15pm and midnight.
TEN’s summer late night repeats of 7PM were always a part of its strategy to win more followers for the show, and it will be hoping it has picked some up, who can now be channelled into the single broadcast.
Conan finale in Oz
Conan O’Brien is so keen to go out with a bang that his show on Wednesday (to air in Australian on Thursday) contained content that impacted on music rights. The inclusion of the Rolling Stone’s “Satisfaction” prompted NBC to contact all broadcasters outside of the USA to advise that the scheduled episode was to be withdrawn and must not be aired.
The Comedy Channel was contractually obliged to follow suit and aired a repeat episode in its place.
The final episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien airs on Friday (US) and …
NBC considers Leno back at late nights
US media commentators are all speculating what NBC will do with The Jay Leno Show, widely perceived as a scheduling failure since it moved to the competitive 10pm timeslot. In the US, 10pm is still prime viewing where shows like Brothers and Sisters, Castle, Ugly Betty, Private Practice, Criminal Minds, The Good Wife and CSI: Miami all air.
Moving Leno to 10pm was considered the boldest programming move of the Fall Season, with Hollywood Reporter recently including his switch in a retrospective story on the decade’s biggest blunders.
NBC knew Leno’s shift …
Panic stations as TEN dumps more shows
It’s ‘Panic Stations” at Network TEN this summer as another raft of shows gets the chop from its schedules.
Rules of Engagement, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, Glee (repeats) have been dumped -even the extra 30 minutes of The 7PM Project has been ditched from Fridays, despite the network promising longer episodes through summer.
In their place are more Accidentally on Purpose, repeats of Malcolm in the Middle, new Simpsons and movies.
TEN’s trigger-happy programming follows it cutting Supernatural, Stargate Universe and a number of other shows.
The network may be reacting to a …

Airdate: Jamie’s Family Christmas
The 7PM Project is taking a well-deserved week off air.
The show will be off air from December 25th and off air the week of the 28th (presumably to return January 4th, but that’s TBA.)
In its place TEN will air Jamie’s Family Christmas.
Yes, that’s right. A Xmas show after xmas.
In fact Jamie Oliver will be showing us “simple ways to get the main elements of Christmas dinner absolutely perfect – the best turkey in the world, the best gravy, the best roast potatoes, the best stuffing. Then he pimps the basic recipes …
Returning: Californication
It was originally set down for the first week of TEN’s summer, but now it’s coming in the second.
Californication’s third series will air from 10:05pm Wednesday December 9th.
Following Karen’s move to New York, Hank does his best to raise daughter Becca by himself. To make matters worse, Becca’s new best friend Chelsea has a fondness for sex, drugs and trouble.
That pushes TEN Late News back to 10:40pm, The 7PM Project rpt at 11:25pm and The Late Show with David Letterman to 11:55pm.
TEN has also pulled plans for Karaoke High (again) to …
Where’s my favourite show?
It’s a sign of the times.
Networks are taking new steps to respond to viewers who are confused, irate or have seemingly better scheduling ideas than Programmers do.
Last week GO! started a blog on its website to inform and appease viewers who were angry about the disappearance of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Weeds and South Park.
“Don’t fret, all you South Park, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Weeds fans; they will all return November 29th,” it declared.
It makes sense for networks to use the web to communicate with viewers. After all, that’s where many …
Letterman upgraded
You blogged. They listened… (we’re gonna have to drop the overuse of that one soon).
TEN has seen sense on Letterman.
It’s now moved it back to follow on from the late night run of The 7PM Project.
From Monday November 30 the rule of thumb will now be:
TEN Late News with Sports Tonight
The 7PM Project rpt
The Late Show with David Letterman.
Those replays of show like Medium, Numb3rs, Law & Order: CI etc will now follow Letterman. The downside is Nurse Jackie geta a 1:00am slot. Can’t have it all I guess…
There are …
