Survivor: Tocantins for summer
Survivor: Tocantins will be airing on Nine during the summer.
The 18th season, set in Brazil, aired in the US in February. It follows Survivor: Gabon currently airing on GO!
Also set to come across summer is the long-awaited return of UK fantasy series Primeval with its mix of CGI dinosaurs and family adventure.
Nine also promises Fringe, What’s Good for You, Wife Swap, ER and The Mentalist for summer.
More titles are yet to be revealed.
TEN faces on Logie night
Further announcements on the Logies indicate Natalie Bassingthwaighte will also sing on the night. Despite being screened on the Nine Network, the Logies always aim to be inclusive of rival networks. Last year it opened with the So You Think You Can Dance kids. Bassingthwaighte’s album is titled 1000 stars, about 200 more than will be invited to the big night.
Australian Idol’s John Foreman is back as musical director. Foreman also oversees Carols By Candlelight’s orchestra.

Nine’s Secret Millionaire
In Nine’s 2008 ratings report it indicated some of the shows that are due next year. While most are already known to us there were two new titles:
Secret Millionaire and Little Britain.
Secret Millionaire is a British format in which millionaires give away tens of thousand of their own money after spending time living in a community where no one knows that they are wealthy. A US version also begins this week on FOX.
At this stage it’s unclear if Nine airs an international or local version -presumably, it wouldn’t involve a Packer….
