  1. So we are finally getting somewhere in AppleTV’s Constellation. It’s starting to get really good now after being fairly lacklustre for the first 3 and a bit episodes. I usually only give tv shows 2-3 eps now so it’s a minor miracle I kept with it. Thank god I did. I hope it keeps up the momentum.

      1. Yeah I’d give it another go if I was you. I was bored too. The only reason I stuck around was because of Johnathan Banks. But boy oh boy does it light up in that fourth episode where the seeds of the first three episodes begin to grow and some very interesting questions are raised. And a cracker end to the ep doesn’t hurt either.

    1. Constellation is reminding me of the SBS on Demand sci-fi show called ‘Infiniti’, but I do like Noomi and she keeps me watching, the distracting part is her characters marriage breakdown with Magnus, James D’Arcy deserved a better written role, as a result there’s no emotional chemistry past or present to feel any empathy for these two characters emotional plight, plus I feel that the alienated family theme due to work or personal ambition has been done to death lately, though I suspect all will be explained at the end.
Jonathon Banks could probably have had this show all to himself, for me his is the most dominant character in the series.

  2. A new Spanish show on Prime Video is screening called ‘Red Queen’ those who like detective shows with a bit of sci-fi attached should check it out. For me one of the curiosities about Prime is the game they play mixing watchable shows with the abundance of low budget rubbish they offer, but it is what it is.

  3. Why can’t any of our Networks offer FHD Content? I’m honestly amazed most channels are still broadcast in SD, I’m not expecting 4k but we seriously need to at least move completely away from SD.

    1. If it’s on FTA via Antenna it’s all about bandwidth but with the Streaming Apps they have no excuse now , only 9 is Full HD and I think ABC , 7 and SBS are HD only 720P and channel 10 well that’s SD.
The networks expect alot with their latest demands about the apps front and centre so they should deliver and offer FHD no less across the board

    2. I am as old as dirt…dont know about apps…happy with my old TV….added expense for me if all goes HD….I can watch HD on my large PC monitor….but currently watch TV 2nd screen…best of both worlds.

  4. Ok 2 weeks in, and still no sign of The Good Doctor s7, what is 7 doing with this show for it’s final season? Waiting till all 10 episodes have dropped and then airing it in dbl episodes over 5 weeks? They don’t seem too concerned about not airing it, I guess if you a fan of the show, you would of already of used “other means” to watch it.

    1. Seven announced Gone which has gone to 7+ and another drama which they haven’t even bothered to put there. They picked up Mr Bates v PO and and Irrational which gave them 15 eps before Easter. It’s not entirely clear what is happening with 911 and Lonestar. They are showing some movies, Cleese Roast and MH370 doco this week. Only 2 eps of The Good Doctor aired so far before a production break, schedules are going to be tight. Plenty of time to show it after Daylight savings ends, MAFS is over and rating would be better.

  5. Hey Knoxy, Rob Palmer (ex 7 BH&G vet and we all know how that ended) on Today this AM with Karl and Sarah… Something further in the works? Maybe Space Invaders, Block or Getaway (doubtful Postcards as I believe Sydney-sider). But great to see, looks great too and hope we see Today/Extra etc get him back as “garden guru” again.

  6. The latest addition to the SBS/US PBS political current affairs line up is the lengthily titled ‘PBS Washington Week With The Atlantic’-a solid 23 odd minutes (no ads) of a round table discussion between various journalists and commentators-shown once a week Sunday 12.30pm on SBS1 and later 5.30pm on SBS2-very interesting and good value.

    1. Originally the Washington Week In Review it has been around since 1967. MacNeil hosted it for a while, as did Gwen Ifill. They plugged it a lot during The Friday News Hour so I have streamed a few episodes over the years. The Insiders is the ABC’s Canberra version.

  7. Americas Got Talent starts Thursday week at 8.30pm on Seven in non AFL states but it is a best from all franchises rather than the norm ….. followed by the new season of Amazing Race at 10.30pm

  8. Finally. After commenting on these very pages multiple times in disgust about how utterly ridiculous it is that it hasn’t been available to watch, and after more than 6 months since it premiered overseas, one of my favourite shows of all time has got its Australian premiere date for its final season.
Breeders S4 is available March 13 on Disney+. Finally.
On a side note too… is there any news on where or when exactly Big Boys will be available for us again? I was 2 episodes into the new season before Paramount+ yanked it.

  9. I’m interested to know does Magdalena Roze still do any presenting on tv? Like wether reports or any other tv presenting? It’s hard to find on Google as most info is old

  10. I’m surprised there hadn’t been a story about how finally, after years of my begging, Foxtel has finally given us a quiz network. However a bit lame at the present as it simply is playing about 4 different shows from the other channels at present. I’d love to see old classic game shows on there like blankety blanks, and for them to reboot some old shows and come up with new ones.

        1. It finishes at Wednesday 6am, which is a shame because I think a channel with just game shows was a good idea and could have fit nicely in the vacant channel 122 slot, especially since some of the shows aren’t being shown on any other channel right now. Was a bit surprised that some of the other game shows they have rights too weren’t shown. Perhaps some from UKTV as well? Not sure Wipe Out is a quiz show though, but it featured a bit on the channel.

    1. This is only a pop-up channel. If you type in 128 on the remote, it says ‘Quiz Pop Up HD’. It would be great to get a classics quiz channel though. I noticed LifeStyle Home and Food are now HD. Probably their reasoning for the latest price hike.

  11. Are we ever going to get to know what the new show, after Colbert, with Taylor Tomlinson has to offer by being shown somewhere down under?

  12. Thank you for another jam packed, informative email newsletter……I seriously do not know how you keep up the pace of your busy life…..but long may you continue.

  13. Hi David, have there been any Australian TV productions filmed and set in the UK proper, and not just Sydney and Melbourne streets and studio interiors dressed up as London?

    1. Please stop picking on Grant’s height. It’s disappointing the big prize has dropped to $100, 000 and winning car no longer an option.

  14. I have been trying to get into iview all day…..all I get is the icon inside an ever spinning circle?
Is anyone else having issues….trouble contacting ABC also.

    1. Hi anyone David would there be a chance the US soap General hospital could come back to Australian TV maybe on 10peach or 9 gem like Days of our Lives Young & the restless?
